Our mission is simple. Because we believe that everyone deserves a chance to experience live events, if patients can't come to the event, we will bring the event to them.
Through a combination of volunteer efforts, and live-streaming technology, we work together with venues to make the experience as much like the "real deal" as possible for people currently in hospitals. Events range from plays, to concerts, community events, etc. and occur year round.
Founded in late 2013 in Des Moines, Iowa, our team is comprised of several well-qualified individuals. Many of our volunteers have extensive experience working with hospitalized individuals, other have spent time working with technology and start-ups, and most have a resume comprised of thorough non-profit work. Together we find the most exciting events in the community and the most entertaining & effective means of broadcasting those events into the hospital setting.

WHO WE ARE
Brittany Brody (President): Born and raised in Des Moines, IA, I opted to attend UW-Madison for college, where I founded a social media company designed to inform college students about what was happening in the campus community. This triggered my interest in the world of events, which eventually led to the creation of Coming To You Live, inc. in late 2013. I firmly believe everyone should be able to experience live events - they are some of my favorite memories and bring an intangible joy that I believe will positively impact the ill and injured. I couldn't be more excited to see what CTYL can accomplish!
Favorite event: I attended The Billboard Music Awards with my mom in 2012 and it was an incredible experience.

Sabrina Ahmed (Vice President/Secretary): I’ve lived in Des Moines most of my life. I had the pleasure of leaving to go to the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!) and study journalism, which was the best decision I’ve ever made. Not only did I get the chance to meet incredible people who will be life-long friends, but I learned who I really am and who I want to be. I realized that my life’s passion is to help others. This has manifested in many forms. I am a journalist and have a passion for raising awareness about important issues, from politics to animal shelters and everything in between. It’s also shaped my volunteerism. I love to directly impact people. This is why I feel such a strong connection to CTYL. I know we will make a difference to people who may otherwise feel forgotten, or who might feel helpless because of their situation. I think the possibilities behind this organization are endless, and I am excited to be with it from the beginning.
Favorite Event: A basketball game in Allen Fieldhouse. While I may not be the most educated or avid fan, a game in that venue is the most incredible feeling. If you don’t get goose bumps when the pre-game video airs, I’ll be worried.

Brad Brody (Treasurer): My desire to get involved with Coming To You Live has to do with helping others in need. As a board member on Unity Point Des Moines, the idea of providing live entertainment options to those confined to the hospital is very exciting. I truly believe this will bring hope and joy to many patients and their families in a time of need.
Favorite event: The birth of my two kids. Although this probably wouldn't work as a CTYL event, it will always be the tops on my list.
